Front-desk scanning for iPhone

Scan it at the desk. It's already on the PC.

SL Scanner turns an iPhone into a front-desk scanner. Line up an ID card, business card or document, tap once, and the file lands in a folder on your home or office PC. No emailing photos to yourself.

Scans are named by date and time, down to the millisecond.

How it works

Three steps, and the second one is a tap.

  1. Run SL Scanner on your home or office PC

Install the Windows app once and choose where scans go: a folder on the PC or a shared NAS folder. The iPhone finds the PC on its own.

  2. Line it up and tap

Pick Card or Document, fit it inside the frame, and hold the phone flat until the level shows a check. Tap the shutter, check the preview, done.

  3. It's on the PC

The scan is cropped to the frame and saved in your folder within seconds. Cards save as JPG. Documents save as JPG or a single combined PDF.

Features

Built for a busy counter, not a photo studio.

Every part of SL Scanner is designed around one job: getting a clean copy of a card or form onto your home or office computer in seconds.

Cards and documents

A card mode for IDs and business cards, and a document mode that collects several pages and sends them as one PDF.

Finds the PC by itself

No IP addresses to type. The phone finds your home or office PC over Wi-Fi, or over a USB cable when Wi-Fi isn't an option.

Level and light built in

An on-screen level tells you when the phone is flat over the card. The light remembers whether you like it on.

Files where you file

Scans go to the folder you choose, on the PC or a NAS. If that folder can't be reached, SL Scanner holds the scan instead of saving it somewhere you won't look.

Nothing gets lost

If the PC is off or the network drops, the scan stays on the phone marked Failed. Tap it to send again once things are back.

Stays in your home or office

Scans travel only over your local network, straight to your PC. No accounts and no cloud, and sent scans clear from the phone after five minutes.

Frames sized to the real thing

The frame matches the card in your hand.

The card frame follows the ID-1 size used by driver's licenses, credit cards and most ID cards. The document frame is shaped like a US Letter page. SL Scanner crops each scan to the frame, so what you line up is what gets saved.
